BUILDING RULES AND REGULATIONS
RANGE RULES FOR CHANGING TARGETS
IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE OF AMERICA
ALEXANDRIA CHAPTER
The following set of Rules and Regulations were established and placed into effect by the Chapter Executive Board and the Board of Directors. The purpose of these rules is for the safety of all who use the park. Each member is expected to comply with these rules, and to help ensure others abide by them. Each member is urged to report any violations to the Caretaker or to members of the Executive Board or Board of Directors.
All park rules and regulations are administered and enforced by the Caretaker, the Executive Board and the Board of Directors.
1. This park is intended for the use and enjoyment of Chapter Members and their immediate families (spouse and children under the age of eighteen).
2. A member shall not lend or reveal his or her park gate key or combination to anyone except his or her spouse.
3. Members and their immediate families may have full use of all chapter facilities.
4. Member’s children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Member’s children over 18 are not allowed to enter the chapter property unless they are a member.
5. Parents are responsible for the actions and safety of their children.
6. Guests are not permitted to use chapter facilities. Guests are defined as non-members, or those who are not part of an active member’s immediate family.
7. Facilities for which guests are generally excluded from using are defined as:
8. Guests may accompany members on a tour of the grounds, including facilities; however, guests may not use the facilities until such time as they become members.
9. Chapter Members may bring guests, who wish to become members, to the chapter meetings on the third Sunday of the month.
10. Organized groups outside of the Alexandria Chapter IWLA will not be permitted use of the park facilities without the permission of the park Caretaker. All groups, when a member of the Alexandria Chapter must sponsor granted permission.
11. Members who violate Use Policy will be asked to leave the chapter property for the day along with their guest(s). A second violation of this policy will result in a 30-day suspension of your membership. You will have to appear before the Executive Board and Board of Directors to have your membership reinstated.
1. No Mini-Bikes or Trail Bikes allowed in the park. All motor vehicles are to remain on established roadways. Speed limit in the park is 15 MPH.
2. Keep area clean. Do not throw debris and other litter around. TAKE ALL TRASH HOME.
3. No washing of clothes in either pond. No washing of anything at the well pump.
4. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. NO PETS WILL BE ALLOWED IN EITHER POND.
5. Do not pick or dig up any flowers, fruit, nuts, shrubs or other plants. Do not drive any nails into trees, or deface them. Leave them for others to enjoy.
6. GATE is to be left the way you find it. If locked, lock it, if open, leave it open.
7. Any member losing his or her privileges at the park cannot return to the park until he or she appears (by appointment) before the Board of Directors.
1. The Clubhouse will only be open to members during activities scheduled by the chapter. The Caretaker shall oversee and schedule any use of the chapter clubhouse. Permission to use the Clubhouse for any special use must be approved by the chapter president.
2. Clean up and all who use the building must maintain trash removal.
3. No use of fireplaces.
4. No charcoal grills or hibachis to be used on the tables in the park.
5. The kitchen will be used for Chapter activities only, except by special permission from the Caretaker.
6. No PETS of any kind are allowed in the building except Special Needs Dogs.
1. Swimming is NOT permitted in either pond.
1. Live bait may be used. Do not dig for bait. Do not discard unused bait in ponds.
2. Proper fishing license are required to fish in ponds.
3. No wading allowed in any ponds.
4. Boats are NOT allowed in either pond, except for Caretaker duties.
5. All Bass 12 inches to 16 inches in length MUST BE THROWN BACK. Keep all Bluegill and Crappie.
6. All applicable State and County fishing rules and regulations must be complied with.
7. Keep area around pond clean. TAKE ALL TRASH HOME WITH YOU.
8. Children fishing must be accompanied by member or members spouse at all times.
1. All Ranges will be closed during meetings and special events.
2. Except during the hunting season, there is to be no shooting of firearms, airguns, archery, etc. except in the designated shooting places.

5. Hunting on the property is permitted during the State Hunting Season.
6. Hunting is permitted to Members who have a valid hunting license, a current membership card, and a permission card from a Chapter officer. Member spouses may hunt with a Member provided they possess a valid hunting license.
7. Proper hunting licenses are required to hunt on the property in season.
8. Hunting permitted in season will be limited to Deer, Turkey, and Small Game. Hunting shall be permitted with legal firearms only. No hunting of dove. duck, bear or rabbit. No guests will be allowed to hunt.
9. Firearms being carried to and from the shooting area other than during hunting must be encased or disarmed.
10. All applicable State and County hunting rules and regulations must be complied with.
11. Member’s children under 18 years of age, holding a valid Virginia hunting permit, may hunt in the park, but, must be under the DIRECT supervision of a parent who is a member in good standing. Written permission for the child or children to hunt must first be obtained from a Chapter Officer. See Caretaker.
12. Hunting permitted with BOW, CROSSBOW, SHOTGUN and MUZZLELOADER ONLY.
13. To shoot ANY SINGLE PROJECTILE, hunters must be in tree stand a minimum of 6’ high.
14. No CENTERFIRE or RIMFIRE rifles are permitted.
15. All hunters MUST SIGN IN the logbook each day before hunting. After hunting is completed that day, you MUST SIGN OUT.
16. Log Book is located on the carport of the Caretaker’s house. Don’t wake anyone please.
17. All hunters must have a chapter issued permission slip with them. They are located in the sign in book.

1. SAFETY is first. Safety rules create a safe environment.
2. Users must obey posted rules and regulations and conduct themselves in a responsible manner.
3. Disciplinary action may be necessary to correct errant behavior such as suspension or revocation of range privileges.
4. BOW HANDLING RULES:
a) Bow must be pointed at target only.
b) Approved targets only.
c) Do not point a loaded bow towards the PONDS.
d) Make sure your target area is CLEAR.
5. Clean up all your TRASH and take it home with you.
6. NO broad-head arrows. Use target or field tips only.
7. Park in designated area next to the entrance of the Archery Range.
8. No ALCOHOL or DRUGS at anytime.
9. NO cutting limbs on trees for tree stands. DO NOT DAMAGE TREES IN ANY MANNER.
11. No construction of permanent tree stands allowed in park.
12. Raise Archery Flag so the Caretaker and other members know that the range is in use. Lower the flag when leaving. Sign IN & OUT at the flag.

The above rules and regulations are MANDATORY. Violations are to be reported to the Caretaker immediately. Remember, safety is first, and have fun at the IWLA Chapter!
