The Alexandria Chapter is hosting a two-day Project Appleseed rifle marksmanship and history clinic on 28 and 29 January, conducted by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association. Appleseed is a unique blend of rifle marksmanship, history, and heritage. Bring your kids, tell your neighbors, friends, relatives, family, and co-workers so we can have a good turnout. Learn to use the USGI sling as it was intended, learn the tripod of rifle marksmanship and the essentials of prone, seated, and standing shooting. Learn what happened on 19 April 1775, who fired the first shots on Lexington Green, where the American Revolutionary War began, how the American Revolution was won, and why the British Regular Army broke and ran after only two minutes of fighting at the North Bridge. You’ll have a chance to learn a little something and you’ll definitely have a great time! If the weather is cold enough (generally at or below freezing for the majority of the weekend) participants earning a Rifleman score (210 out of 250 points) will have the option of receiving the much sought after “Winterseed patch which is subdued blue and has icicles hanging off the bottom. Warmer weather will result in the standard tan or OD green patches being awarded.
