NRA Pistol Instructor Course (w/ BIT)


The NRA Pistol Instructor course is at least 16-hours long and teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. Prerequisites include: basic firearm safety and shooting skills; candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire; and demonstrate their shooting skills during live-fire. The course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training (BIT), and pistol instructor training. Candidates demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification exam. Candidates will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide and an NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet.
