NRA Basic Rifle Course


The NRA Basic Rifle course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. It is typically 8-10 hours long and includes classroom and range live fire. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from various positions; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive books and other materials, take a written exam, and receive a course certificate upon successful completion.

Practice starts at 7:00pm and the shoot at 7:30.

All Shoots are Stock (unmodified shotgun) Shoots

What do you do?

Shoot Shotguns
You need to bring your own shotgun (12 gauge) + money
We shoot @ 5 x 5 paper targets with A Bullseye center @ 25 yards
Closest to the Bullseye wins

The cost is $5.00 per shot.

The profits from the turkey shoot goes to the parks' operating fund

Prizes vary from slab bacon, hams, turkeys etc.
